Who is function to need?

デザイナーをしているとマスプロダクトが過剰になっていると感じることがある。
より高性能に、より耐久力を求め、より造形としてはわかりやすいバーションアップを求める。
そして存在するのか不確かなユーザーのペルソナを作り上げ、製品を生み出す。
この企画から量産まで全てを思い通りにコントロールしようとした、言語化された余白がどこにもないプロセスに違和感を覚えた。
果たしてこの機能は誰のために存在し、誰を豊かにするために生み出されているのか。
自分の中にある想いを昇華したプロダクト。

As designers, we sometimes feel that mass products have become too much. Designers are asked to produce output with higher performance, higher durability, and more easily recognizable variations in form. They are required to create products with target users who may or may not exist. I felt uncomfortable with this process, in which everything from planning to mass production is controlled as desired, and there is no room for sensitivity. For whom do these functions really exist, and for whom are they created to enrich? This product is the sublimation of my inner thoughts.

素材は全て再生が可能なアルミニウムを利用している。
また部品の共通化によって様々なサイズに対応が可能。
水平のパイプを左右に動かすことで、重心の位置が変わり光源の位置が上下する。
任意の角度に移動することが当たり前ではなく、思い通りに動かない余白に豊かさがあるのではないだろうか。

All materials are made of recyclable aluminum. Common parts are used to accommodate various sizes. By moving the horizontal pipe left and right, the center of gravity changes and the position of the light source moves up and down. It is often taken for granted that the light can be moved to any angle, but I found richness in the margins where it does not move as desired.

LEDの放熱システムを意匠として落とし込んだ。
機構を包み理想の形状にするのではなく、機構を造形の魅力へと昇華した。

The LED heat dissipation system was incorporated into the design. Rather than wrapping the mechanism in an ideal shape, the mechanism was sublimated into an attractive formative attraction.

各部の意匠にも機構面からアプローチ。重りの役割を持つ無垢のアルミ部材。回転を想起させる中心の接合部。全てが合理的に成り立つことを狙った。

The design of each part is also approached from the mechanical aspect. A solid aluminum member serves as a weight. The central joints that remind us of rotation. The aim was to make everything work rationally.
